Ashleigh Shoemaker
CMM Graduate Student/Veterinarian
As a veterinary pathologist, I have a keen interest and some prior experience in studying the congenital diseases of animals. My thesis research focuses on understanding the signaling pathways that contribute to organ form and function. I use my research as a stepping stone for understanding the applications of advanced microscopy techniques, such as confocal and super-resolution microscopy. Outside of work, I spend most of my time reading, hiking, and camping in either Maryland, Virginia, or Pennsylvania.
